Spring Fundraiser 2012 a Great Success

The first ever Urban Memory Project fundraiser was held on March 13, 2012 at Esopus Space in New York City. Over 70 people gathered to learn about the Project’s current work on the Lower East Side, view student photographs, enjoy refreshments from Lower East Side establishments, and view rare film footage taken of the LES neighborhood in the 30s, 40s, and 50s.

It was amazing and successful event, with proceeds going toward the latest UMP collaboration on New York’s Lower East Side, a partnership with the Lower Manhattan Arts Academy, the Abrons Arts Center of the Henry Street Settlement, and with support of the Seward Park branch of the NYPL.

Thank you to everyone who came and made the evening a successful and positive boost for the Urban Memory Project.  Your support is greatly appreciated, and please be on the look out for upcoming events.
